A Free, Family-Friendly Event Marking the Official Start of Kansas City’s Fountain Season
The City of Fountains Foundation is proud to announce Fountain Fest 2025, a premier spring festival celebrating Kansas City’s historic fountains and vibrant arts culture. This free, family-friendly event will take place on Saturday, April 19th, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Mill Creek Park adjacent to the Country Club Plaza.
Fountain Fest is a new citywide tradition that marks the official turning on of Kansas City’s fountains for the season. This inaugural celebration features live music, plein air painting, kids’ entertainment, food trucks, and interactive experiences—offering something for everyone to enjoy.
Fountain Fest is more than just an event; it’s a tribute to Kansas City’s legacy as the City of Fountains! This festival brings the community together to celebrate our history, our public art, and the unique beauty of our fountains while engaging with local artists, musicians, and businesses.
Attendees will experience live performances from local musicians, and an immersive plein air paint-out with Kansas City artists. Families can enjoy a dedicated Kids’ Zone with interactive entertainment, engaging performances, and hands-on activities for children of all ages, and festival-goers can indulge in a variety of local flavors from some of Kansas City’s best food trucks.
The festival also supports the City of Fountains Foundation’s mission to preserve and maintain Kansas City’s fountains for future generations. Donations and sponsorships from the event contribute directly to fountain restoration and ongoing preservation efforts.
Fountain Fest is free to attend, and the public is encouraged to bring family and friends for a day filled with music, art, and community spirit.
